Pyle PZR3000 Power Amps Review

Pyle PZR3000 Power Amp Pyle PZR3000 Power Amplifiers are intended for public address system use, and can be used for anything from paging systems in offices to amplifying music or speech. Their rugged 31 pound steel rackmount design ensures that their durability will be unmatched within the industry, along with their raw power at a surprisingly low price.

The PZR3000 is a dual channel power amplifier, capable of producing a maximum of 3000 watts when connected to a single bridged speaker, or 1500 watts per speaker in standard dual channel operation. This amount of power is more than sufficient to provide the amplification necessary for any indoor venue, such as an office, place of worship, or meeting hall. Although it is not specifically geared for music amplification, its 10 Hz to 50 kHz frequency response is more than adequate for most music applications. The unit has outputs for either 1/4" or banana plug speaker connections, and inputs are handled via XLR/combo and RCA jacks. These inputs and outputs help to ensure that the PZR3000 will be compatible with nearly all of the equipment that you may already have. Additionally, a grounding screw is provided to help minimize hum with some older hardware.

A wide variety of protective measures are included with the PZR3000, to help ensure that your investment will be safe for many years. The unit is cooled by a variable speed fan system, which quickly forces hot air out of the unit keeping it within acceptable temperature ranges. However, if a blocked vent or improper installation causes the unit to become too hot internally, an LED on the front will light up, and the unit will automatically shut down to prevent permanent damage. The PZR3000 is also capable of shutting down in the event of a power spike, brownout, or other electrical fault conditions. Both amplification channels additionally feature clipping LEDs. Under normal operation, these LEDs will flash from time. However, if they are lit solidly, they serve to notify the user that the amp's volume level needs to be reduced in order to avoid speaker damage.

Until recently, Pyle Audio was best known primarily as a provider of amplification equipment for auto and marine use. However, they slowly begun to expand into the world of professional audio and now provide amplifiers for a variety of applications including live music and front of house installed sound systems.
