In addition to its 1660 maximum watts of power in bridged monaural operation, the FRS 1700 can produce up to 830 watts per channel in stereo mode, when driving a pair of 2 ohm speakers. Thanks to its integrated Fast Recovery technology, occasional clipping is no problem for the FRS 1700. Most conventional power amplifiers can become locked into a clipping state when overloaded by input levels that are too high, causing distortion.
