Crown XTI 6000 Power Amps Review
Crown XTi 6000 Power Amplifiers are rated for a maximum power output of 6000 watts in bridged mono operation, sufficient to power the PA systems or in-house sound for the largest concert venues - even those that are outdoors. The XTi 6000 is a dual channel power amplifier, and in stereo operation, can produce up to 3000 watts of muscle per channel when driving 2 ohm stereo speakers. For any outdoor concert event, even those that last all day, the XTi 6000 is a stellar choice for the most demanding of applications. The XTi 6000 provides enough power to be used with both a subwoofer and a main speaker simultaneously, making it an ideal choice for bands and DJs alike.
The XTi 6000's digital modeling circuitry allows for 15 user selectable presets, with settings for delay, equalization, and volume limiting that can be independently modified by the user. A setting is also included that enhances the subsonic bass frequency response that subwoofers demand. If more of a pure tone is desired, however, these settings can be disabled completely.
Featuring a sturdy rackmount chassis, the XTi 6000 is designed to withstand the rigors of touring and continue to pump out high quality sound in even the harshest environments. Weighing just 24 pounds, however, it is extremely easy to store and transport from one venue to another. The XTi 6000 has excellent thermal characteristics, and is able to remain cool through all day concert events. If it is mounted improperly, or a vent is blocked, you can remain confident that permanent damage will not occur. A series of fault notification LEDs on the front of the unit alert the user if any problems exist, such as overheating or electrical overload, and the amplifier will quickly shut down to prevent electrical damage in the event of an issue. Additionally, the XTi is protected by a three year no fault warranty, which guarantees replacement or repair if the amplifier is damaged, even if that damage is the result of user error.
Look in the sound room of nearly every major concert venue, and you are likely to found Crown amplifiers.
